Boca Juniors current star forward, Carlos Tevez will play in the initial Copa America squad according to reports from the national team.

After months in the international wilderness, Carlos Tevez has been named in Argentina's preliminary squad for the upcoming Copa America Centenario. Argentina stars Carlos Tevez and Paulo Dybala have been left off Argentina's 23-man squad list for this summer's Copa America Centenario in the United States based on the final list coach Gerardo Martino announced on Friday.

The diminutive argentine centre forward, Tevez, who led Juventus to the 2015 Champions League final in Berlin, moved to Argentina giants Boca Juniors last summer after spending nearly a decade in Europe playing for a host of clubs.

Tevez has been in and out of the national team for quite a while. He was initially dropped in favour of retaining Lionel Messi and this decision has been proven right over several major tournaments. Even now, Tevez still hopes to feature regularly for the national team. Returning to Argentina to continue his club football has also helped him get more supporters asking for his return to the national team.

Boca Juniors is seriously struggling to secure victories at a consistent pace and almost all of the results that the Argentine club is getting are either draws or just defeats.

Carlos Tevez has come out with an open letter to Juventus fans in which he has praised the Italian club while also wishing them more success in the future.

Tevez has played a major part in reviving the club’s fortunes as far as European football is concerned. For several years, Juventus looked far-off from being able to challenge for a Champions League title. This almost changed last season when the club came close to beating Barcelona in the final of the European Cup. Even though there was no fairytale victory, Juventus did win the league title once again.

After having formed a major part of the team, it was expected that Tevez would continue and bring more success to the Italian Serie A outfit.
