UEFA FORM FIVE-A-SIDE TEAM

The official website of European football’s governing body, UEFA, has formed a five-a-side team from the list of players celebrating their birthday on Friday, February 5 and that included Boca Juniors striker Carlos Tevez, who turned 37 on the said day. The Argentine international shares the same birthday date with former Manchester United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Juventus attacker and Carlos Tevez shared the Manchester United dressing room for two years before Real Madrid swooped in on Cristiano Ronaldo in a transfer deal reported to be around £80m in 2009. The transfer was the record fee for a player at that time. Apart from Carlos Tevez and Cristiano Ronaldo, February 5 is also the birthday date for other players like Paris Saint Germain (PSG) talisman Neymar, Croatian international defender VedranCorluka, Real Sociedad winger Adnan Januzaj and Inter Milan centre back Stefan de Vrij. Past players like Romanian football legend Gheorghe Hagi and ex-Dutch international Giovanni Van Bronckhorst also share the same February 5 date. Gheorghe Hagi is widely regarded as the greatest footballer to ever come out of Romania and he has a son who's hoping to follow in his footsteps in IanisHagi, who plays his club football at Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.

UEFA was able to create a five-a-side team and it had the quintet of Gheorghe Hagi, Neymar, Carlos Tevez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Giovanni Van Bronckhorst. The likes of Adnan Januzaj, Stefan de Vrij and VedranCorluka had to settle for a place on the bench. Carlos Tevez has the quality to spearhead the attack with support from Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar, while Gheorghe Hagi can supply the passes behind them. Tevez is still a strong competitor despite the fact that he's in his late thirties. He has played for clubs like West Ham United, Manchester City, Juventus and many more.
