Carlos Tevez insists he wants to play in another final for Boca Juniors

Argentine superstar Carlos Tevez has stressed that he has no plans of retiring from the beautiful game despite him on the wrong side of the recent Copa Liberatores final. The veteran was only called off the bench in added extra game of Boca Juniors’ clash against River Plate but he could not make amends as the latter celebrated a comfortable 3-1 triumph.

Speaking after the game, Tevez acknowledged that the team are devastated after suffering a defeat at the hands of their fierce rivals despite giving their everything on the playing field. He added that he does not want to call quits at the current moment of time and would prefer to stick with the team and reach another final.

He said: ““I find it very hard to talk to people after losing a final“. We were mad because we lost to River in a final and this isn't something that happens everyday. I would like to thank the fans for their affection but I don't feel the need to ask for forgiveness because we left everything on the field. One could retire and remain peaceful with their family but I want to continue because a fan of Boca does this. I have played many finals, “I have won many“,as many as I've lost, now is the time to return and play.”

Tevez made the comeback with Boca Juniors for the third time earlier in the year after enduring a rather forgettable one-year stint in the Chinese Super League. Thereafter, he has not managed to replicate the same showing from the previous spells at the club and this has supposedly dropped him out of the mix for a regular starting role. Still, he has remained pleased with the work on offer and may yet retire with his hometown club in the future. Tevez has made over 670 appearances in his luxurious career where he has contributed 287 goals.
